The Site
Singular Possessive is a place to chronicle new discoveries: artisans and designers, happenings, products, and places to visit. Updated irregularly but lovingly by Rena Tom. No fancy layouts, no shots of my (admittedly cute) dog, just stuff I find and like.
I try to credit my sources but if I’ve done you wrong, let me know and I will fix it.
Also, I apologize in advance about the logo.
Me
I’ve blogged on and off for about 15 years, since before they were called blogs. I had a Geocities account, people. Can I just show you my homepage navigation? This is embarrassing. Cut me some slack; I was young.
Since then, my Photoshop skills have improved somewhat. I worked as a consultant and freelancer during the ridiculous Internet boom years. Ridiculous as in, I got paid to go to Tokyo to advise kamaboko dealers how to do B2B transactions. Kamaboko is that slice of white and neon pink fishmeat you get on your ramen. That was a crazy trip.
And then it all crashed. And then I made jewelry. And then I printed wedding invites on a Gocco. And THEN I opened a store. And then I sold it, but I can’t stop sourcing products or noticing trends. That brings us up to today. Welcome to my blog, friend.

so excited to follow you, rena!

I’m new to your blog, but I love it already!
And I also love that you write &c. instead of etc. Are you a fellow Jane Austen fan?
Lauren: I’m an English major and it shows.
I just discovered your *new* blog. I’m already a fan!
Genius!
